We plan to get vendor and scarecrow locations out to folks by September 23rd.  Your location will be emailed to you by that date.

We are doing things a little different this year.  If you are a vendor and entering a scarecrow, you will be setting up in the same location.

Yes!  We are taking vendor/contestant applications up until the 25th of September.  Hurry and get your info sent….

Back by popular demand, the Ottawa Rotary is sponsoring our Annual Chili Cook Off.

Want to join in the competition? Go to the “Chili Cook Off” tab and follow the directions to the forms and rules web site.

Want to find out if your chili is that good? Nows your chance.

Barnyard Bingo

This year we will be adding the fun of Barnyard Bingo. We will be placing a farm animal in a fenced in grid and where ever “IT” lands that grid #/ticket holder wins $250.00. We will also be raffling off 10 other $25.00 cash prizes.

Get your tickets at from a downtown merchant and join in on the fun.

Hi everybody,

This year we tossed around a lot of different idea’s on the scarecrow theme and we have a good one.  We would like to go with the “nautical” theme and have scarecrows dressed up as sailors, captians, fishermen, boat racers, etc.  Anthing that is “nautical” related can be used for your scarecrow.

This year the Scarecrow Festival will be held on Saturday September 26th, 2009.  We had to adjust the date this year due to other scheduled community events in October.

Go to http://sites.google.com/site/ottawascarecrowfest09/ to download forms guidelines and checklist.

Back in the late 80′s, the Ottawa Area Chamber of Commerce and downtown businesses started the Ottawa Scarecrow Fest.  The Scarecrow Fest is a local, kid-friendly event that includes children’s activities, buckboard rides, a petting zoo, and a Scarecrow Competition.  Over the years, the festival has grown to include many more activities and community participation.

It is that time again to plan and prepare for a fun and successful festival.

Our hope is that this site can help vendors and participants have a fun day being outdoors and celebrating the change in season.
